Cool Truck Bed Ideas

Not to long ago I built a sleeping platform for the back of my F150 with storage under it.  It is pretty sick.  I can store all my fishing or hunting gear in the drawers that pull out and I even fabricated room to hold broken down fly rods.  With all this storage there is still room for me and my dog Barley to sleep on top so as to get off to slaying fish as early in the morning as possible!

I love it but my F150 is approaching 200,000 miles and I would like to get a diesel Dodge someday.  This means that I can’t help but to dream of what I will do in the back of that truck.  Right now I am leaning toward install a Bedslide and building a sleeping platform over the Bedslide.  That way all my gear and stuff would be protected under the platform.  The following is a collection of images I have gathered that are helping my to think about what I want to build in the future.  Let me know if you have something I should check out or that you would like for me to post so that others can benefit as well.

  1. I dig it! I have been debating on building something for my truck or just seeing what the truck vault brand has to offer and prices.

    • I feel like the best option around is to buy a Bedslide ($900) and then build a platform over that. Once you lock up your gate you would essentially have a ‘vault’ protected on top by your platform (good for sleeping and dogs too) & locked on the front by your tail gate. You can bolt into the Bedslide to in order to organize I you wish. Whatever you do share some pics and I will post them here so others can benefit as well.
